Molybdenum reinforced austenitic stainless steel (Mo 3.0~4.0%, 316L 2.0~2.5%).
Ultra low carbon (≤ 0.03%) to prevent sensitization.
Alloy cost higher than 316L, but significantly better local corrosion resistance.

Performance

Resistance to pitting corrosion equivalent PREN ≈ 30~33 (316L approximately 25).
Better resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chlorine containing environments.
Better resistance to sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid than 316L.
Good formability and weldability.

Applications

Chemical processing (chlorine containing media, organic acids).
Pulp and paper bleaching and cooking equipment.
Seawater condenser and cooling system.
Flue gas desulfurization (FGD) absorption tower and flue gas duct.
